Vietnam is fully prepared for the upcoming 24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-24), the 15th ASEAN Conference of Army Commanders (ACAMM-15) and the 4th Conference of ASEAN Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (ASMAM-4), a military officer announced.
Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on November 7, Major General Nguyen Phuong Dien, Deputy Director of the Department of Popularisation and Training under the General Department of Politics, noted that this was the second time Vietnam was hosting AARM-24, and the first time for ACAMM-15 and ASMAM-4.
He added that these events provided an opportunity to introduce the tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army and the country’s cultural identities to partners from other ASEAN member states.
The AARM started in 1990 at the initiative of the ASEAN Chiefs of Army, aiming to strengthen solidarity, mutual understanding and friendship between ASEAN militaries. It is held annually on a rotational basis.
This year, the event will take place in Hanoi from November 11-28.
Meanwhile, ACAMM-15 and ASMAM-4 will be also held in the city from November 25-29.
