Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has pledged full government support for a $1.5 billion real estate, tourism, and golf resort project backed by the Trump Organization. The project, located in Hung Yen province, is expected to be completed by early 2027.

According to Vietnam’s official government website, Prime Minister Chinh met with Charles James Boyd Bowman, the Trump Organization’s project director in Vietnam, at the Government Office on March 18.

The development is being led by a joint venture between Hung Yen Investment and Development Group and IDG Capital, which represents Trump Organization’s interests in Vietnam. The project aims to create a high-end urban, eco-tourism, and sports complex, featuring a premium golf course.

Vietnam supports U.S. investment for economic growth

During the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh emphasized that since Vietnam and the United States established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in September 2023, bilateral economic and trade relations have continued to strengthen.

However, he noted that U.S. investment in Vietnam still has significant room for expansion. He encouraged American investors to increase their presence in the country, particularly in large-scale projects.

Acknowledging the Trump Organization’s commitment to investing in Hung Yen, Chinh assured that Vietnamese authorities would conduct a comprehensive review to expedite the project while ensuring compliance with legal regulations and protecting the interests of all parties involved.

Vietnam has been actively reforming its administrative procedures to improve efficiency, streamline decision-making, and promote investment. The government prioritizes speed, intelligence, and decisiveness in policy execution to deliver tangible, measurable outcomes.

Prime Minister Chinh urged the Trump Organization to consider Vietnam as a strategic business hub, expanding its investments beyond Hung Yen into other high-potential sectors and locations. He also encouraged the company to integrate Vietnamese businesses into its global supply chain and ecosystem.

Additionally, he asked the Trump Organization to support diplomatic efforts by facilitating high-level visits between the two countries. He called for the United States to recognize Vietnam’s market economy status and to ease regulations on Vietnam’s imports of advanced U.S. technology and equipment.

Trump Organization eyes rapid completion for APEC 2027

Charles James Boyd Bowman expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of Vietnam’s ministries and Hung Yen province authorities. He confirmed that the company is working closely with local agencies to accelerate project development, aiming for completion by March 2027 - just in time for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

Trump Organization envisions the Hung Yen project as Vietnam’s premier golf destination, positioning it among the most prestigious courses worldwide.

Beyond this investment, the company is actively exploring additional opportunities in Vietnam. It plans to facilitate visits from Trump Organization executives to Vietnam and contribute to enhancing the country’s international image as a high-quality investment destination.

Trump Organization’s broader expansion in Vietnam

In October 2024, Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC) announced that Trump Organization had entered a partnership with Hung Yen Hotel Services Corporation - a KBC subsidiary - to develop luxury accommodations, golf courses, and residential communities in Vietnam.

The ambitious project will feature a 54-hole VVIP golf course, complemented by a luxury resort and villa system designed to meet the highest standards of Trump Organization properties. It will cater to high-profile events, including government summits and elite business gatherings.

Additionally, the development will include a world-class hotel complex and modern residential areas.

Eric Trump: Vietnam is a prime destination for luxury real estate

Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and the third son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, highlighted Vietnam’s exceptional potential in the high-end hospitality and entertainment sectors.

Trump Organization, a privately held multinational corporation owned by the Trump family, is a major player in luxury real estate, hotel development, and golf course investments worldwide.

During Donald Trump’s presidency (2017–2020), he stepped back from managing the company to avoid conflicts of interest. The Trump Organization was placed in a trust, and leadership was transferred to his children in 2017.
