On March 13, the Nam Dinh Provincial Police confirmed that they had broken up a sophisticated drug distribution network that exploited the anonymity of cyberspace to conduct illegal transactions.
The operation culminated in the arrest of three individuals with prior criminal records for drug-related offenses: Luong Dinh An (born 1983, Nam Phong Ward), Nguyen Trung Kien (born 1977, Quang Trung Ward), and Tran Van Duong (born 1979, residing in Bao Long Village, My Ha Commune).
Despite previous convictions, these individuals continued their illegal activities, using digital platforms to expand their reach and evade law enforcement.
Massive drug haul and evidence confiscated

Police confiscated a significant cache of illegal substances, including 1.4 kg of heroin, 2 kg of ketamine, 1 kg of methamphetamine, 500 ecstasy pills, and 100 "hong phien" (a type of synthetic drug). Authorities also seized five mobile phones and various other pieces of incriminating evidence.
The sheer volume of drugs recovered highlights the scale of this illicit operation. The suspects not only engaged in traditional drug trafficking but also leveraged social media and encrypted messaging apps to conduct their transactions.
The Nam Dinh Provincial Police’s Drug Crime Investigation Division is continuing its probe to uncover additional members and links within the network.
