VietNamNet Bridge - After two humiliating failure games against Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Vietnam dropped down on FIFA rankings in November. Specifically, it fell by seven spots to 158th compared to October.
In November, national teams competed in the World Cup play-offs, friendly games and the Asian Cup qualifiers, so their positions on FIFA rankings changed significantly.
Vietnam, after two humiliating defeats in the matches with Uzbekistan and the UAE dropped by seven grades to 158th in the world rankings. In Southeast Asia, Vietnam stood behind the Philippines (133rd), Myanmar (140th), Thailand (142nd) and Singapore (154th).
If the Vietnam national squad does not improve its performance, Vietnam may even rank behind Malaysia (158th at present), Indonesia (162nd) and Laos (163rd) next month.
The world’s top 10 also changed dramatically. Portugal, after winning a card to the World Cup finale, jumped by nine spots to 5th. Brazil also increased by one grade and re-joined the top 10.
The FIFA December rankings will be announced on December 9.
