The committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other related ministries and agencies for their prompt implementation of tasks related to unilateral visa exemptions and preferential visa policies.

These efforts have contributed to making Vietnam’s visa regulations increasingly streamlined and accessible.

However, Vietnam’s visa policy still needs further improvement to support socio-economic development, promote tourism, and attract foreign investors and experts.

Enhancing the country's image as a safe and welcoming destination is essential to further elevate Vietnam's international standing and reputation.

The Government’s Standing Committee also emphasized the need to consider creating more favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese who wish to regain Vietnamese nationality.

This reflects the Party and State’s ongoing commitment to the overseas Vietnamese community, responds to their aspirations, and helps mobilize an important source of strength from overseas Vietnamese in national development and defense - especially during this era of national advancement.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that the review and potential expansion of visa exemptions and incentives, as well as revisions to nationality regulations, aim to reflect the current situation, meet practical demands, and translate the Party's guidelines into concrete legal policies.

He assigned relevant agencies to gather feedback, conduct studies, and propose amendments or additions to finalize the necessary policies and regulations for submission to competent authorities for review and approval.
