The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has announced the formation of a task force to oversee the implementation of the National Assembly's resolution on the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project.

The task force will be led by Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh, with Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy serving as deputy head.

Its primary responsibilities include directing and expediting agencies and units in implementing Resolution No. 172/2024/QH15 of the 15th National Assembly regarding the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project.

The task force will also be responsible for implementing special mechanisms and policies approved by the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister for the project.

Additionally, it will coordinate efforts between the MOT and other ministries, sectors, and localities to address critical issues related to project execution.

The task force will report challenges, obstacles, and any arising issues during the project’s implementation to the appropriate authorities, proposing solutions for timely resolution.

In addition to the task force, the MOT has established four working groups to support its activities. These groups will focus on:

Project implementation.

Training and human resource development.

Industrial development and technology transfer.

Science and technology advancement, along with the development of standards and regulations for the project.

The creation of the task force and working groups underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the smooth and efficient implementation of the North-South high-speed railway, a vital infrastructure project for Vietnam’s future development.
