According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the FFAV model has helped to establish many football clubs in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue and other localities across Vietnam with the participation of numerous children.

The FFAV works to develop children’s non-competitive grassroots football for six to 15-year-old children. The project especially focuses on disadvantaged children whilst promoting the wider development of women’s football.

The project makes use of football as a tool for integrating fundamental life skills so they can have a useful playground to create a balance between learning and playing.

As many as 184 football clubs featuring the participations of more than 17,000 children have been established since it was first launched in 2003.

Earlier,  the project also won the NGO and Individual Category at the Dream Asia Awards in 2015 and 2017 by the AFC.

In addition, the PVF Youth Football Training Center also won the Youth Academy of the Year Award.

Moreover, the AFC announced a shortlist of the Top 3 nominees in various categories for the AFC Annual Awards, which is scheduled to take place in Seoul in the Republic of Korea on October 29.

Accordingly, with its brilliant achievements recorded throughout the year, the VFF has been named among the top three contenders for the AFC Member Association of the Year in the Diamond category. The two other nominees are the Chinese Football Association and the Football Association of Thailand.

The Vietnamese football governing body has also been nominated in the AFC President Recognition Awards for Grassroots Football in the Bronze category, along with the Football Federation of Cambodia and the Chinese Taipei Football Association.
