VietNamNet Bridge - With a capacity of 12,000 horsepower, water displacement of over 2,500 tons and being equipped with fire-resistant lifeboats, the CSB 8001 patrol ship, which is the most modern of its kind area in the region, was delivered to the Coast Guard Region 3 on Thursday, November 27.
On the morning of November 27, after four days departing from Factory Z189 in the northern coastal city of Hai Phong, the modern patrol ship brought a mission of the Ministry of Defense to Truong Sa Lon Island and the DK1/15 oil rig in the southern city of Vung Tau, where it was delivered to the Coast Guard Region 3 forces.
The CSB 8001 patrol vessel has a length of 90.5m, width of 14m, with a helipad, fire-resistant lifeboats (photo), two fire-pumps of 6.6m per minute. The ship can accommodate 120 people and can tug ships with water displacement of 2,200 tons.
This vessel was manufactured by Factory 189 of the Ministry of Defense, using the design and technology transferred by Damen Group of the Netherlands. The ship has a capacity of 12,000 horsepower and is equipped with devices to initiatively reduce shaking from waves of levels 2 to 3. Present at the handover ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung - Deputy Minister of Defense and Lieutenant General Tran Quang Khue - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People's Army presented gifts to the soldiers and officers in the CSB 8001 ship.
The launch of this patrol boat is expected to contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of patrol, control and protection of the sovereignty of Vietnam's islands and waters. |
