This morning, 39 Vietnamese citizens who had been detained in Myanmar for violating immigration regulations were safely brought home.
Following instructions from the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Myanmar and Thailand, relevant domestic agencies, and the authorities of both Myanmar and Thailand, successfully organized the repatriation of these citizens.
These are the first individuals among a larger group of Vietnamese nationals currently in Myawaddy, Myanmar, awaiting return. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuing active negotiations with the involved countries to facilitate the return of the remaining citizens as soon as possible.
The Ministry also issued a warning to Vietnamese citizens to remain vigilant against offers of "easy jobs with high pay" abroad - particularly those that do not require qualifications, do not involve proper contracts, or bypass authorized labor dispatch agencies.
Citizens are urged to thoroughly investigate the job’s nature, work location, the identity and credibility of the recruiter, insurance policies, and legal rights. They should consult with official authorities regarding the legitimacy of overseas employment offers and work locations to avoid becoming undocumented workers or illegal migrants.
