Hoang Binh Quan, member of the Party Central Committee and head of the Committee’s Commission for External Relations, is visiting Kazakhstan from April 20 to 25, at the invitation of the ruling Democratic People's Party Nur Otan.

The Vietnamese official has met with delegations of the Nur Otan party, led by First Deputy Chairman Mukhtar Kul-Mukhamed, and of the Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan, led by Secretary of its Central Committee Zhambyl Akhmetbekov.
He also met with Gulmira Isinbayeva, deputy chairperson of the lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament.
Through these meetings, both sides informed each other on domestic affairs of their respective nations and exchanged opinions on the official establishment of relations between their ruling parties.
Measures to boost ties between Vietnamese and Kazakh parliaments, governments and people and bilateral cooperation at multilateral forums were also discussed.
Expressing their pleasure to see parliamentary ties playing a significant role, the sides said experience exchanges between key bodies of the two parliaments would contribute to deepening Vietnam-Kazakhstan traditional friendship.
They agreed that bilateral cooperation is making progress in trade, transportation, culture, and sports.
The Kazakh side said they consider Vietnam an important partner in the Asia-Pacific.
Regarding the East Sea issue, Quanexpressed wish that Kazakhstan will actively support the maintenance of peace, security, and safe navigation and overflight as well as peaceful settlement of disputes on the waters in line with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
