Vietnam has emerged as the world’s second-largest user of free online learning platforms, excluding the United States, in 2024.

According to Khan Academy, a leading educational platform based in Silicon Valley, USA, Vietnam recorded over 204 million minutes of learning time on its platform in 2024, with more than 2 million new learner accounts created.

These figures have propelled Vietnam to second place globally, surpassing India and ranking just behind Brazil.

The rapid growth in online learning participation reflects Vietnam’s proactive approach in integrating technology into education. Khan Academy attributes this achievement to government initiatives, policy support, and widespread adoption of digital learning by educators and students.

As Vietnam continues to embrace digital education, the country is positioning itself as a global leader in edtech. By leveraging technology to enhance accessibility and learning outcomes, Vietnam is fostering an inclusive and future-ready education system.
