VietNamNet Bridge – Vietjet Aviation Jointstock Company (Vietjet Air) and Vladivostok International Airport, Russia on September 6 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will pave the way for the Vietnamese low-cost carrier to open direct flights from Vietnam to Vladivostok.

The MoU was signed during the 17th session of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-governmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Co-operation in Vladivostok last week, witnessed by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and his Russian counterpart Igor Shuvalov.

Vietnam is a very popular destination for Russian tourists, who flock to the country’s beautiful beaches as well as major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City throughout the year. A new air route connecting Vietnam and Russia will undoubtedly boost trade relations and tourism flows between the two sides.
