Shortly after Tran Anh Tu submitted his resignation as Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the organization released its first official response.
In an official statement, the VFF announced: "The Vietnam Football Federation has received a letter addressed to the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee from Vice President Tran Anh Tu, requesting to resign from his positions within the VFF.
The Standing Committee has acknowledged the request and will report it to the VFF Executive Committee in the upcoming meeting."
Earlier, on the afternoon of March 12, Tran Anh Tu, who served as the VFF Vice President in charge of professional affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), submitted his resignation from these key roles in Vietnamese football.
Tran Anh Tu cited personal business commitments as the reason for his decision.
Despite stepping down from these positions, he will continue to serve as President of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation and has pledged to keep investing in Vietnamese futsal as well as several women’s football teams supported by his business.
During his tenure as VFF Vice President in charge of professional affairs, Tran Anh Tu, along with the VFF’s professional department, devised plans for national teams at all levels.
His contributions to men’s football, women’s football, and futsal highlight his dedication across multiple roles. Under his leadership, Vietnam’s men’s futsal team has reached new heights, while the women’s futsal team has come close to breaking into the world’s top 10 - a testament to the structured investment and grassroots efforts he helped implement.
