VietNamNet Bridge – Yesterday afternoon, June 16, Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) signed an official letter to Mr. Tom Fox, Commerce Director and Mr. Angus, Marketing Director of Arsenal FC, asking them to edit the clip posted on the FC website (Arsenal.com).
Arsenal stoke anticipation for Asia tour with video
The map of Vietnam in the clip does not have Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.
In some clip entitled "Vietnam travelogue", "Arsenal meets Vietnam" ... about Arsenal's upcoming trip to Vietnam, Arsenal introduced the Vietnam map missing the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands.
VFF Vice Chairman Le Hung Dung said: "I do not think they have any intention; it is only the ignorance of knowledge about the country. Immediately after watching the clips, we composed a letter to ask them to remove the clip to add the images of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos in the clips."
In the letter, the VFF stated: "The video clips are very attractive and interesting. They have appeared on many online newspapers in Vietnam and other countries. The clips have attracted millions of viewers and received a lot of good comments.”
“However, we found that in the fifth second of the clip, the map of Vietnam lacks both the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands. Therefore, we respectfully suggest you to use the official map of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (please see the attachment)... "
