Reports indicate that persistent heavy rainfall affected several localities in Quang Ninh, including Hai Ha District, Dam Ha, and Uong Bi City, leading to localized flooding. 

Additionally, rising water levels in rivers and streams triggered underground flooding in certain communes of Ha Long City and Ba Che District.

Notably, Thanh Son Ward in Uong Bi City experienced significant localized flooding, with water levels in some areas reaching almost to the height of car windows.

In an interview with a VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Pham Van Su, Chairman of Thanh Son Ward People's Committee, stated that the continuous rainfall had caused many roads to become locally flooded, disrupting traffic flow. To address the situation, local authorities mobilized forces to evacuate residents from areas 2, 3, and 4 of the ward, as these locations were dangerously inundated. Furthermore, the electricity sector was requested to temporarily suspend power supply to flooded areas to prevent potential hazards.

In Hai Phong City, heavy rainfall transformed numerous residential areas into waterlogged zones, with many roads submerged up to 40cm deep. Director of Hai Phong Drainage Company Limited, Mr. Pham Quang Quynh, attributed the widespread flooding to heavy rainfall measuring up to 200mm at 3 am, coupled with a high tide of 3.8m. By 11 am on June 9, the high tide reached its peak, elevating river water levels to 4.2m, marking the most severe flooding event in the past decade.

Mr. Quynh disclosed that the drainage company had deployed all workers to regulate water levels at drainage gates and lower the water levels in regulating ditches. Additionally, efforts were made to clear debris from inlets and drainage manholes, as well as to open drainage manholes at key locations to enhance drainage capacity. However, heavy rainfall persisted, resulting in significant flooding on streets such as To Hieu, Le Loi, Luong Khanh Thien, and Cau Dat, disrupting daily activities and inundating residential properties.

In Nam Dinh City, prolonged heavy rainfall caused widespread flooding in the city, submerging many streets and leading to vehicle breakdowns, prompting rescue support.
