VietNamNet Bridge – Some unknown dogs have appeared in Bac Son Commune, Soc Son District, Hanoi, and attacked more than 50 people, causing worries in the local community of the threat of rabies.

According to an official of Soc Son district, in the last three months, at least 50 people in Bac Son commune were bitten by strange dogs, making people panic.

Some people speculated that the dogs are tall, black gray, and were released by the Chinese. Many people do not dare to go out in the evening for fear of being bitten by a dog.

However, local officials said that these dogs looked very normal but their origin is unclear. The health of the 50 people bitten by strange dogs remained stable.

"It may be strange dogs from Thai Nguyen Province because Bac Son is bordering Thai Nguyen, or the dogs may be of local people but they did not realize when their dogs bite people," said an official of Soc Son district.

The local authorities have asked Bac Son’s people to not let their dogs wandering outside and vaccinate the dogs. The district also established the rapid response force to catch and kill the dogs that bite people.

The Hanoi People's Committee has directed Soc Son district to verify the origin of the strange dogs and establish teams to kill the strange dogs and wandering dogs.
