The P4G Summit, themed “Global partnership for sustainable, people-centered green transformation,” will take place in Hanoi. This is the first high-level multilateral conference on green growth, green transition, and sustainable development hosted by Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son stated that hosting the P4G Summit marks a significant milestone not only in Vietnam’s diplomacy but also in its strategic progress toward sustainable national development.
The summit provides a platform for Vietnam to reaffirm its strong commitment to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. It also signals the country's determination to collaborate with the international community in driving national, regional, and global green and sustainable transformation strategies.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that hosting the summit presents an opportunity for Vietnam to deepen its partnerships with international stakeholders and enhance its position in multilateral mechanisms.
This will help the country better attract external resources, especially in critical areas such as climate change response, digital transformation, science and technology, and innovation.
As Vietnam steps into a new era of development, the summit reinforces its sustainable growth strategy - one that does not trade social progress, environmental protection, or equity for economic growth alone.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, approximately 600 delegates from over 40 countries and international organizations have registered to attend. These include P4G member countries, partners, investment funds, research institutes, businesses, scholars, and diplomatic corps.
Vietnam is expected to welcome many high-ranking leaders, including the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, three prime ministers, and numerous deputy prime ministers and foreign ministers from various nations.
The summit's agenda will center on discussions to strengthen public-private partnerships, attract investment, advance green technology adoption, foster sustainable energy transitions, and develop human resources for the green economy.
Notably, the summit is expected to adopt the “Hanoi Declaration,” a key document underscoring the international community’s commitment to promoting green growth and sustainable development.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed Vietnam’s goal of hosting a successful summit that leaves a strong, professional impression, while showcasing the nation's unique identity to the global community.
