Interim U22 Vietnam head coach Dinh Hong Vinh has revealed that the coaching staff has been closely monitoring the performances of Vietnamese-origin players Andrej Nguyen An Khanh and Viktor Le.
Assessing the current U22 Vietnam training camp, Coach Vinh expressed high expectations for the two overseas-born players.
According to Vinh, the coaching team has been following An Khanh's progress in the Czech Republic’s fourth division, where he has been performing well for SK Polanka. The young midfielder has scored seven goals in over ten appearances for the club.
Regarding Viktor Le, Coach Vinh commented, "He has been regularly playing and starting for Ha Tinh FC in the V-League. Viktor meets the selection criteria. Of course, for him to fully integrate into U22 Vietnam’s playing style, we will continue to refine his skills and tactical understanding."
U22 Vietnam’s ambitions for 2025
Coach Vinh also outlined U22 Vietnam’s objectives for the upcoming year: "Our goal is to win the gold medal at the SEA Games. The team is working hard to build strong cohesion. I have also been collaborating with head coach Kim Sang Sik."
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a consistent football philosophy across Vietnam’s national teams: "We are ensuring continuity in tactical approaches from the senior national team down to U22 Vietnam. The training programs and strategies have been aligned to create cohesion between both squads."
"In the immediate future, our focus is on refining player quality and integrating them into the team’s overall philosophy. At the friendly tournament in China from March 20 to 26, we aim to deliver strong performances in every match. This will help us gradually finalize our optimal squad by September," Coach Dinh Hong Vinh concluded.
