VietNamNet Bridge - Massive retreat of football investors in a short time has made Vietnamese football fall into a severe crisis.

For many reasons, the bosses of many football clubs have withdrawn investment in football. The first who did this are Tran Dinh Long and Nguyen Manh Tuan of Hoa Phat Hanoi FC.

At the end of the 2011 football season, the two bosses stated to give up football because of their concern over the partial behavior of the referees in the game between their FC and Hai Phong FC

The breakup made people regret because Hoa Phat Hanoi was a team with professional style and the two bosses were also very enthusiastic in football.

Tuan and Long’s decision "triggered" for the retreat of other investors later, though the reasons are different.

Nguyen Duc Kien was arrested, resulted in the disbandment of the Hanoi FC and Hanoi Young Team. Kien was the one who bought the Hoa Phat Hanoi from Tuan and Long.

After the 2012 season, the flight of football investors came to the peak. Firstly, it was the withdrawal of Do Quang Hien, with an excuse of avoiding being the boss of two football teams at the same time. However, Hien still funds T&T Hanoi and Da Nang FCs.

In the north, after the withdraw of Tuan, Long, Kien and Hien, boss Hoang Manh Truong has just withdrawn from Ninh Binh FC, reasoning his disappointment with the behavior of the players, after the squad went on strike to demand wage and bonus.

In the south, Nguyen Duc Thuy has said goodbye to Saigon Xuan Thanh FC. After two years of investing in football, what Thuy did is only using tricks to polish the name of the team, instead of developing football in a radical way.

The remarkable achievement that this boss did before giving up football is the fast acquisition of Navibank Saigon and then quickly disbanding it. The withdrawal of Truong and Thuy was expected and no one would regret.

In the financial crisis, few expected that boss Le Tien Anh of Khanh Hoa FC also retreated, resulted in the disappearance of this FC on the football map. Earlier, boss Nguyen Vinh Tho sold Navibank Saigon at the price of VND21 billion ($1 million).

In less than two years, eight investors gave up football for many reasons.

As Vietnam’s football depends too much on the funding of bosses, it has immediately fallen into crisis after the withdrawal of investors.

Vice Chairman Le Hung Dung of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that it's time for football to live on the audience, advertising, copyright ... instead of relying on football investors.
