VietNamNet Bridge – Customs officers at the HCM City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport have uncovered two drug trafficking cases, totaling nearly 5kg, worth approximately VND15 billion ($700,000).

The HCM City Customs Department has handed over two suspects with 5kg of drugs to the police for further investigation.
At 7.20pm on December 31, 2013, customs officers and the border-gate police team at Tan Son Nhat International Airport arrested a Filipino man for transporting over 1.64kg of cocaine into Vietnam.
Also at the same time, they detected a Vietnamese Australian man carrying 3.04kg of pseudoephedrine into Vietnam.
The total value of the two drug traffic cases is approximately VND15 billion ($700,000).
In 2013, 12 drug trafficking cases were discovered at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport, with 16 traffickers, over 30.3kg of drugs of all kinds and 2,065 pills of methamphetamine, worth more than VND100 billion ($5 million).
