On June 11, Quang Ngai Border Guard completed dealing with two foreign freighters that docked illegally in the waters of Vietnam. There are 12 Indonesian and six Chinese sailors on board.

Colonel Bui Phu Phu, deputy commander of the Quang Ngai Border Guards said that the sailors on two cargo ships declared that they were on the journey from China to Indonesia. In the waters of Quang Ngai, the ships were out of food so they docked about two nautical miles from Co Luy estuary of Nghia An commune, Tu Nghia District to go to the shore to buy food.

"The two ships illegally moored in the waters of Quang Ngai. In such cases, according to international maritime law, the captain has to report to the local authorities and fly the flag for respecting the sovereignty of Vietnam waters," Phu said.
