VietNamNet Bridge – The Institute of Geophysics said that at 10.19am on January 12 there was a 2.6-magnitude earthquake in the area of Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant in the central province of Quang Nam.
A lot of quakes occured in the area around Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant, Quang Nam province.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of about 5.5 km.
According to experts, the quake caused vibrations at a level III in the epicenter. This earthquake was weak and incapable of causing damage.
Previously, this area had an earthquake on November 25, 2013, with 2 magnitudes on the Richter scale.
Earlier, at 12.55am on January 11, a 2.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in Son La province, northern Vietnam, at the focal depth of about 9km.
