Tuan lifted 131kg in the 56kg men's snatch category to break the previous record of 130kg set by former Olympic silver medallist Hoang Anh Tuan in Beijing five years ago.

Tuan also lifted 150kg in the clean-and-jerk category to gain a total lift of 281kg to clinch the gold medal.
