The two damaged houses include a steel store and a motorbike repairing shop.

"At that time, seven people were sleeping. Suddenly I heard a bang in the front door and the house was shaken. The front door collapsed so we had to run out through the back door," worker Son Kim Tuan, 25, of the steel store said.

Unlike seven male workers in the steel shop, Ms. Ho Thi Ai Lan, 38, and her two sisters had to crawl inch by inch from the wreckages of the motorbike repairing shop.

"It’s too horrible! I and my sisters were sleeping when we heard several loud noises. Waking up we saw the front of the house was ruined, next to a big container truck," Lan said.

The crash made the front part of the two houses collapse, burying a lot of properties inside. The truck driver was not injured and he quickly left the scene.

By 7 am, the big container truck lying across the road caused traffic jams. The truck was then pulled out of the scene. After that the police used a crane to knock down the front part of the houses to help the owners collect their assets.

According to Phu Nhuan District Police, the driver, named Nguyen Phuc Tri confessed that he was drowsy and made the accident.
