The album Saigon Love Stories will tell stories about HCM City, a dynamic and friendly city, through sound and music.

"I've spent several months travelling around the c ity to record sounds of daily lives of the people and nature," Minh said. "These sounds will be mixed with the melody of songs, with or without lyrics, composed by me and famous Vietnamese composers."

The production will feature performances from Minh's friends and popular Vietnamese and foreign musicians and singers, including saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan.

Minh said Saigon Love Stories combines daily life sounds and popular melodies with electronic music. It is expected to be released during the Christmas season.

Early this month, Minh released the 2015 edition of his debut album Hanoi Love Stories, which was first released in 2010. It was produced in the same way as Saigon Love Stories.

The album includes 12 songs, including famous songs such as Em Toi (My Beloved) by late composer Thuan Yen, Minh's father, and Hoa Sua (Night-scented Flowers) by Hong Dang, and folk songs Beo Dat May Troi (Floating Flowers, Drifting Clouds).

It also features the country's top singers, including Tung Duong, Thanh Lam and Pham Thi Hue, and foreign artists, including singer Michael Moller, guitarist Stefan Ostersjo and saxophonist Anders T Andersen.

Minh, born in a family of musicians, graduated from the Viet Nam National Academy of Music with a composition degree and then began playing jazz.

In 1999, he decided to follow electronic music, and has performed with international artists in Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Taiwan.

Since 2008, he has been the organiser of the annual electronic music festival Hanoi Sound Stuff Festival featuring Vietnamese and international artists.

He established Tri Minh Quartet in 2014. They play a combination of traditional Vietnamese music with electronic music and have toured in major cities in Viet Nam and the US.
