VietNamNet Bridge - Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen - Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Transport – is the victor in the first-ever exams to find a new chief of the Vietnam Road Administration, which was held on April 25-26 in Hanoi.
Four candidates participated in this special contest, including Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Vice head of the Vietnam Road Administration; Mr. Pham Hong Son, General Director of Project Management Unit 2; Mr. Pham Huu Son, Director General of the Transport Design and Consultancy Corporation, and Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen.
After a writing contest and presentation, Huyen had the highest mark and was pronounced the winner. In the presentation, Huyen was questioned by 8 of the 15 jury members.
Huyen’s specialized knowledge and his solutions to handle the current hot issues of the road sector was highly appreciated by the jury. Deputy Minister of Transport and chief juryman – Mr. Nguyen Hong Truong – says some of the ideas proposed in the action plan of Huyen will be applied in the near future.
The Ministry of Transport held a press conference on Monday to announce the examination results.
The exams have attracted public attention since it was the first held by a ministry to choose the top official of a state agency.
Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen was born in 1962. He is a construction and road-bridge building engineer and holds a Master degree of Business Administration. Huyen was the deputy director and director of many construction companies under the Ministry of Construction before being appointed the ministry’s chief inspector in September 2012.
