Tran Anh Tu has decided to withdraw his resignation and remain in his positions as Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).

During the VFF Executive Committee meeting on the afternoon of March 27, a resolution was reached regarding Tran Anh Tu’s resignation letter. Previously, on March 12, Tran Anh Tu submitted his resignation from key positions at both VFF and VPF, citing a desire to focus on his business activities.

However, at today’s meeting, Tran Anh Tu once again announced his intention to step down. Nonetheless, the majority of the Executive Committee members persuaded him to stay, emphasizing the ongoing and significant responsibilities related to Vietnamese football.

After careful consideration, Tran Anh Tu reversed his decision and agreed to continue serving as Vice President of VFF and Chairman of the Board of VPF until the end of his term.

Previously, during the 9th VFF Congress, Tran Anh Tu was elected Vice President in charge of professional affairs with unanimous support.

He is widely regarded as the key figure behind Vietnam’s futsal team participating twice in the FIFA Futsal World Cup, playing a crucial role in the development of futsal and women’s football in Vietnam.

Most recently, he served as Head of the Delegation, leading the Vietnam national team to victory at the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

At VPF, Tran Anh Tu has held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for three consecutive terms.

Throughout his tenure, he has made substantial efforts to boost VPF’s revenue, providing additional support for clubs and enhancing the image and quality of the V-League, particularly in infrastructure and technical standards.

Notably, during the 2023/24 season, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology was introduced in the V-League for the first time.
