The deceased has been identified as Ms. N.T.P., a resident of Quang Dien District, Hue. Hospital representatives confirmed that she was admitted in critical condition with signs of stroke and cardiac arrest.

According to initial information, Ms. P. registered to participate in the marathon held early on April 6. During the run, she collapsed on the course and was immediately assisted by the event’s medical team. Despite on-site emergency intervention, her condition deteriorated rapidly.

After being rushed to Central Hospital Hue, she was placed on mechanical ventilation via endotracheal intubation. However, her condition showed no signs of recovery. That night, her family requested to take her home, where she later passed away.

In addition to Ms. P., the hospital reported receiving three other marathon participants on April 6 who required emergency care due to health issues encountered during the event.

The incident has raised concerns regarding safety protocols and health screening at large public sporting events. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on whether an investigation will be launched.
