VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam recorded as many as 11,179 traffic accidents in six months, from last December 16 to June 15, which killed 4,478 people and injuring 10,149 others, according to the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC).
The number of traffic accidents was down by 1,648 cases (or 12.85%), the number of deaths reduced by 211 cases (4.5%) and injuries by 2,111 cases (15.24%) against the corresponding period last year.
The NTSC also reported that in the reviewed period, licences were granted to 89,428 automobiles and 1,105,498 motorbikes drivers
Meanwhile, traffic police nationwide fined more than 2 million cases of traffic violations for nearly VND1,300 billion.
