A traffic accident in the southernmost province of Ca Mau on April 30 claims one life. Statistics show that 163 traffic accidents occurred nationwide during the six-day national holiday, killing 91 people and injuring 109 others. 

 

Three people went missing, according to the Department of Traffic under the Ministry of Public Security.

On May 1 alone, the country reported 63 traffic accidents, leaving 28 dead and 43 injured. The figures represent increases in the number of cases, fatalities and injured in comparison with that of the previous days.

During the holiday, traffic police handled over 38,400 violation cases and collected 13.2 billion VND (626,000 USD) in fine.

Last year, the country recorded 224 traffic accidents on holiday from April 30 to May 4, claiming 117 lives and injuring 151 people.
