According to the authorities of Cao Bang province, the ceremony will take place on December 28, 2023, at the two border gates.
With a border line of more than 333 km long and many pairs of border gates with China, in recent years Cao Bang province has focused on planning and investing in infrastructure and socio-economic development; attracting potential investors; building a mechanism for managing and exploiting land funds, creating synchronization and unity in development space, ensuring long-term orientation and creating a legal basis for the implementation of investment projects in its border gate economic zone.
The Vietnamese Government has added Cao Bang’s border gate economic zone to the list of eight key economic zones that will be invested heavily in the period of 2021 - 2025.
To maximize the economic advantages of border trade, Cao Bang province has been focusing on innovating leadership and direction; determined and drastic in reforming administrative procedures in order to attracting resources to develop infrastructure of its border economic zone.
Thanks to the above policies, the infrastructure of Cao Bang’s border economic zone currently meets the needs of border trade economic development and serves its goals of future development.
So far Cao Bang’s border economic zone has attracted 64 projects, including 59 domestic projects with a total registered capital of 9,256 billion VND and 5 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of 16.61 million USD.
As many as 43 projects have become operational, creating jobs and stable income for local workers and providing service support for border economic activities.
In the period of 2021 - 2025, Cao Bang province will continue to accelerate investment progress to complete and put into use 5/6 projects to develop infrastructure in the border gate area that were kicked off in the 2016 - 2020 period; Complete 1 of the 4 infrastructure projects that were launched in 2021-2023 (Quoc Mon Gate of Ly Van Border Gate in Ly Quoc Commune, Ha Lang District).
The province is implementing 3 projects, including: a water supply plant for Tra Linh town in Trung Khanh District, Ta Lung bridgehead II complex control station in Quang Hoa District, and resettlement area infrastructure development and Tra Linh Border Gate traffic system.
In addition, the province will invest about 2,000 billion VND to connect infrastructure to its border gates, such as provincial road 213 from Trung Khanh to Po Peo Border Gate; the road connecting old Tra Linh town to Trung Khanh district center; and will continue to upgrade and repair a number of roads to its border gates.
Cao Bang authoritiesl will discuss with Guangxi province (China) to speed up the upgrade of Ta Lung - Thuy Khau border gates (bridge II Ta Lung - Thuy Khau), Tra Linh - Longbang (Na Doong - Na Ray open route) from bilateral border gates to international border gates;
To open Ly Van - Thac Long bilateral border gates; complete procedures to request upgrading to international border gate for Ban Khoong - Nham Ung opening routes; organize a ceremony to announce the opening of Ban Gioc - Duc Thien opening routes (marker 834/1) and the pilot operation of these routes to serve tourists visiting the Ban Gioc - Duc Thien Waterfall landscape area; ask for the government’s permission to temporarily open the Na Doong - Na Ray open routes until November 30, 2023.
Cao Bang’s border areas, based on their natural, socio-economic conditions will develop their annual and periodical border economic zone programs.
The province will coordinate with relevant agencies to promote administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for businesses to speed up custom clearance formalities.
According to Chairman of Trung Khanh District People's Committee Nong Van Bo, the district has great potential for border economic development with two border gates of Tra Linh and Po Peo, but trade activities with Jingxi district, Zhuang Autonomous Region of Guangxi (China) are still quite modest.
To develop border economic exchange, from now to 2025 the district will continue to effectively use budget resources as well as mobilize socialized resources for synchronous investment in border gate infrastructure; promote reform of administrative procedures; proactively resolve problems and difficulties in site clearance; promote investment, expand relations with China in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, transportation, import and export; attract domestic and foreign investment, expand production and business activities at border gates...
Thanks to the local government’s efforts, in the period of 2021 - 2023, border economic activities in the province recorded positive changes. The total value of imported and exported goods through border gates reached over 1.94 billion USD, with an average growth rate of over 10%/year. Border tax revenue was 3,463 billion VND.
