VietNamNet Bridge – “Things Everlasting” – the annual concert held by VietNamNet Newspaper on the National Day September 2 – will have the participation of many famous senior singers such as Trung Kien, Trong Tan, Duyen Huyen, My Linh, etc.

On the morning of August 28, the concert organizers announced the list of artists who will perform in the show, which will take place at 2-m on September 2 at Hanoi Opera House.

The concert will have the participation of famous singers such as Trung Kien, Trong Tan, Duyen Huyen, My Linh, Tung Duong, Duc Tuan, besides cellist Ngo Hoang Quan, young piano talent Do Hoang Linh Chi and young violin talent Do Phuong Nhi.

The works selected for the concert are composed by senior musicians of Vietnam, such as Van Ky, Hoang Duong, Ho Bac, Ca Le Thuan, Le Thuong, Nguyen Dinh Phuc and the famous contemporary musicians such as Trong Dai, Tran Tien and Quoc Trung.

With not many changes in program structure, the Things Everlasting Concert will have two parts: music and vocal, with the most outstanding works of Vietnam music.

This is an opportunity for the audience to enjoy the classic works of Vietnam music which are performed in the new ways by well-known artists.

The music part includes: Two chapters of the symphony “Ko Nhi” for ballet by composer Van Ky, which was composed in the 70s and performed in Kazakhstan in 1970, Germany in 1972 and Russia in 1984 by the national symphony orchestras of these countries; Vocal on the Huong River by Hoang Duong; the impromptu “Street” by Trong Day for percussion, wood and bronze instruments combined with traditional instruments used in Tuong (Vietnamese classical opera) and ca tru (ceremonial songs) of Vietnam; the soundtrack for the movie “Floating Lives” for string instruments by musician Quoc Trung; and a folk adaptation - Xe Chi Luon Kim (Spinning threat, threading a needle) for symphony orchestra by Tran Manh Hung.

In the vocal part, famous singers of different generations will perform seven songs, including: Trong Tan and the choir performing Hon Vong Phu 1 and 2 (composed in mid 40s, the first Western style epic of Vietnam) by Le Thuong, People's Artist Trung Kien with “Ho Chi Minh City – The Most Beautiful Name” by Tran Kiet Tuong; singer Tung Duong with Ben Kia Song Duong (Across the Duong River) by Hoang Cam, written in 1950; singer My Linh with “Toc Gio Thoi Bay” by Tran Tien; Duyen Huyen with Tieng Dan Bau (The sound of Vietnamese monochord) by Lu Giang and Nguyen Dinh Phuc; and Duc Tuan with “Nua Hon Thuong Dau” (Half a Painful Soul) by Thanh Tam Tuyen and Pham Dinh Chuong.

The artistic director of the concert this year is still composer Duong Thu, with the great help from composers Tran Manh Hung, Hoang Luong, Bui Minh Dao and conductor Le Phi Phi.

"This concert is true art; not commercial entertaining and we are trying to bring the art closer to the public. The participating artists are all big names and the songs in the concert are all too familiar to the audience, but they are transformed into symphony," said Duong Thu.

He also revealed that the artist have been training very hard with the orchestra of a hundred of people. "Honestly, to be able to organize such a concert is a huge success and effort,” he said.

The “Things Everlasting” Concert has been organized by VietNamNet Newspaper for five years and it always takes place at 2 pm on the National Day 2/9 at the Hanoi Opera House. This year, the program will be still broadcast live on VTV1 and the FM channel of the Radio Voice of Vietnam.
