On the afternoon of April 11, police in Ninh Thuan, in coordination with Phuoc Nam commune police (Thuan Nam district), held a session with Nguyen Quoc Huy, a resident of Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Huy is the person who filed a formal complaint alleging that Hoa exploited charitable donations for personal gain.

Previously, sources from VietNamNet confirmed that the provincial police had accepted the petition, co-signed by Huy and several others, which requested a criminal investigation if signs of wrongdoing were found.

According to the petitioners, there are suspicions of financial misconduct involving donations meant to support a child named Bap (real name: Minh Hai), a young cancer patient.

The petition calls for authorities to verify the intentions and actions of Le Thi Thu Hoa, who is the child's mother and the primary subject of the complaint.

Upon receiving the petition, police held a four-hour session with Huy, who represented the group of complainants. The session served to document his statement as part of an ongoing verification and legal process.

At present, Huy has not disclosed details regarding the contents of his discussion with the police.

It is known that in 2024, Huy and several philanthropists spearheaded a campaign to raise funds for Bap’s medical treatment. The donations were funneled into a Techcombank account under Hoa’s name.

In addition, Bap's case gained widespread attention on social media platforms, with donations collected through multiple channels. Notably, Tiktoker Pham Thoai spearheaded a campaign that reportedly raised around 16 billion VND (approximately 640,000 USD).

In February 2025, rumors began circulating online that Hoa had misused the funds meant for Bap’s care. In response, Huy made two trips to Hoa’s hometown in Nho Quan village, Phuoc Nam commune, in an attempt to verify the facts.

Huy claims that the reality in Hoa’s hometown is very different from what she portrayed on social media.

In his complaint, Huy cited a list of assets, including an apartment, land, motorbikes, and cars owned by Hoa and her relatives, as well as transactions involving money transfers and gold purchases.

According to Huy, this information was corroborated by local residents who are willing to testify if summoned by the police.

In a related development, Le Thi Thu Hoa confirmed to VietNamNet that her family has also submitted a formal complaint to local police.

Their petition accuses Nguyen Quoc Huy of fabricating stories for attention and views, which they claim has seriously harmed their reputation and honor.
