Despite persistent drizzle, tens of thousands of pilgrims and tourists gathered on April 7 (the 10th day of the third lunar month) at the Hung Kings Temple Festival in Phu Tho Province, showing deep reverence for Vietnam’s legendary founders.
Shortly after top leaders of the Party and State completed the ceremonial incense offering, the security barriers were opened to allow the public to ascend Nghia Linh Mountain to the sacred Den Thuong (Upper Temple).
As witnessed by VietNamNet reporters, people dressed in raincoats and held umbrellas as they patiently queued along the ceremonial yard and up the mountain path. The number of visitors increased steadily throughout the day, but thanks to well-organized crowd management and security measures, movement remained orderly and safe.
Security forces were stationed throughout the pilgrimage route to assist the elderly and children, and numerous medical stations were set up along the path to Den Thuong. Loudspeakers continuously broadcast safety reminders, urging visitors to safeguard their belongings and ensure personal safety.
Festival organizers confirmed that since the opening of the festival (on the first day of the third lunar month), millions of visitors have made the pilgrimage to the Hung Kings Temple Historical Site.
The Hung Kings Temple Festival is one of the most sacred national events in Vietnam, honoring the ancestors believed to have founded the nation. Every year, the main festival day draws crowds from across the country, regardless of weather conditions, in a powerful display of cultural unity and reverence for national heritage.
