VietNamNet Bridge - On March 9, the Ba Vang Buddhist Temple in Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh Province, with the sanctum of up to 3,500 m2, will be inaugurated after a long time of renovation.
In 1706, Venerable Tue Bich built the Ba Vang Pagoda to resume the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen after 300 years of hiatus. Located in the Yen Tu mountain range, the ancient pagoda was once ruined by time and wars.
Since it was discovered in 1987 until 2007, the temple did not have any venerable monk. The path up to the mountain was recently covered by bushes. The temple is still a desolate work.
In 2007, the local authorities invited Venerable Thich Truc Thai Minh from the Truc Lam Yen Tu Monastery to manage the Ba Vang Pagoda.
Standing in front of the ruined temple, Venerable Thich Thuc Thai Minh found out that the dried well in the temple was suddenly full again. He was determined to rebuild the temple.
He called for contribution from Buddhists throughout the country to restore the temple, which now holds a Vietnam record for having the largest sanctum.
On March 9, the temple is expected to welcome approximately 30,000 Buddhists and visitors on its inauguration day.
