VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam has got 30 more stock millionaires, who are the shareholders of the companies which begin listing their shares on the bourse in 2013, and the members of the rich families.
Nam Long’s President Nguyen Xuan Quang.
VnExpress and its partner VNDirect Securities Company have reported that 34 new stock millionaires have turned up by December 18, 2013, who have the stock assets worth over VND21 billion, or 1 million US dollars.
The decision by Nam Long Investment JSC (NLG) on listing its shares on the bourse in April 2013 has created six more stock millionaires. Nam Long’s President Nguyen Xuan Quang, with the stock assets worth VND250 billion, has become the richest among the new stock millionaires.
Quang has been known as the founder and the chair of Nam Long since its establishment in 1992. Besides, he holds the post of president in the other four companies.
In Nam Long, Quang holds 14.6 million shares with the market value of VND249.7 billion currently, a 20 percent decrease in comparison with April, when NLG shares were put into transactions.
Ngo Ngoc Lieu, the wife of Cao Tan Buu, a member of the board of directors of Nam Long, with the stock assets worth VND160 billion has also been added into the list of the 2013’s richest stock millionaires.
The list has also admitted some other members of Nam Long, including Tran Thanh Phong (Vice President), Do Ngoc Minh (member of the board of directors), Lam Hoang Xuan Lan and Nguyen Thi Huong.
Despite the gloomy market which makes products unsalable, the real estate sector still has produced a lot of new millionaires.
Ha Trong Nam, Member of the Dai Duong Hotel and Tourism JSC, with the total OCH stock assets of VND153 billion, has for the first time been named in the list of the rich stock millionaires.
Meanwhile, in 2010, Nam, holding 2.94 percent of OCH shares, had only VND30 billion.
The list of the new stock millionaires in 2013 includes a lot of businessmen in the banking sector.
Three of them are from ACB, namely Tran Phu My, Dang Van Phu and Dang Phu Vinh.
ACB share prices have reduced by 6 percent, now traded at VND15,600 per share. The price once was traded at VND24,000 at its peak in 2012.
However, the fact that a series of the bank’s managers, including Nguyen Duc Kien, dubbed as “mogul Kien,” were arrested has led to the sharp fall of the bank’s shares. Kien reportedly faces a life sentence.
The youngest member in the list of the stock millionaire is a businesswoman born in 1991 – Nguyen Ngoc Nhat Hanh.
Hanh is a new name in the list of stock millionaire, but is a familiar name in the business circle. She is the daughter of Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh, President of the Refrigeration Engineering Enterprise (REE).
After buying one million more REE shares earlier this year, Hanh now holds 3.16 million shares of the enterprise.
The total assets of the 50 newly emerged stock millionaires are about VND2.4 trillion. 70 percent of the total assets belong to the top 20, estimated at VND1.7 trillion.
