At a meeting with Vietnamese leaders, General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Cambodia, said that the new Cambodian Government strives to inherit and continue to cultivate the traditional friendship with Vietnam.
On the evening of November 13, President Vo Van Thuong received General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Cambodia, who is on a visit to Vietnam.
General Tea Seiha informed President Vo Van Thuong about the results of the talks with Defense Minister Phan Van Giang.
He said that in the Cambodian Government of the new term has many new members and all of them are making efforts to inherit and promote the achievements that previous generations have created and continue to nurture the traditional friendship, the good relationship, comradeship and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cambodia.
President Vo Van Thuong thanked General Tea Seiha for sincerely sharing about the cooperative relationship between the Army and people of the two countries. Vietnam always wants to strengthen relations with Cambodia, considering this a priority in Vietnam's foreign policy.
In the overall relationship between the two countries, cooperation between the two Ministries of Defense and the armies of the two countries has achieved positive, substantive, extensive and effective results in all fields, within bilateral and multilateral frameworks. This is truly one of the important pillars in Vietnam-Cambodia relations.
The President affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always encourage, support, and create conditions for cooperation between the two armies and the two Ministries of Defense of Vietnam and Cambodia to become more and more practical and effective.
In the context of many complex and unpredictable developments in the region and the world, the President hoped that the two Ministries of Defense will strengthen coordination in sharing defense information, sharing regional and international issues to get better cooperation.
The two sides need to continue to coordinate closely, implement existing cooperation agreements, and continue to attach importance to cooperation in training and fostering officers, especially young ones.
The two sides continue to coordinate to manage the border well, build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development, bringing benefits to the people of the two countries.
The President encouraged the two Ministries of Defense to increase military exchanges with localities, military regions, and corps, thereby sharing experiences in training and building each country's army.

The Prime Minister hoped that Cambodia will coordinate with Vietnam to strengthen connection between the two economies; human resource training; building borders of peace, friendship, cooperation and development; continue to support and create favorable conditions and support for the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia, including the legal status of Khmer people of Vietnamese origin in Cambodia.
General Tea Seiha said that the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense and the Minister personally will continue the tradition and cultivate good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term sustainable cooperation with Vietnam.
In particular, it is necessary to educate traditions to help generations of people of the two countries, especially the younger generation, have a deeper awareness of the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship and be more responsible in preserving and cultivating the relationship between the two countries.
