VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Science and Technology has announced the groups of products that will be given priority to be developed in order to establish a commodity market with Vietnamese brands.



The selected products are the ones that are developed based on scientific achievements, creating a breakthrough in a number of sectors, important economic and technical domains of the country, such as agriculture, biotechnology, defense, security, towards the formation of the pioneer scientific technological firms in these fields.

The six main products on the list include: Vietnamese rice of high quality, high yield; overlength and oversized equipment; products for information and network security; engines used for the transportation facilities, vaccine products for humans and animals; products serving national defense and security.

Besides, the Ministry of Science and Technology has announced the three reserve products, consisting of Vietnamese catfish of high quality; mushrooms and medicinal mushrooms; and circuits.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology--Chu Ngoc Anh, said that the selection and implementation of national products represent an important innovation in the development of science and technology in Vietnam.

He also confirmed that the "National Product Development Program to 2020" will not only create coherence between research forces in institutes and universities and businesses, but also make breakthrough in a number of sectors.
