Pho Minh, an 800-year-old pagoda built in the Ly Dynasty, is one of the national historic sites of Vietnam.
Along with the Tran Temple, Pho Minh Pagoda is one of the famous spiritual destinations of the northern city of Nam Dinh. The pagoda is located in Tuc Mac village, now Loc Vuong ward of Nam Dinh city.
The pagoda is known for its Pho Minh tower, a typical work of Tran dynasty architecture. That's why it is also called Thap Pagoda.
Pho Minh Tower has 14 floors, 19.51m high. The last two floors of the tower are built of stone with carved lotus and river patterns. The upper 12 floors are built with bricks, without being mortared. Each brick head has the words "Hung Long thap tam nien" (the third year of Hung Long dynasty - 1305) and is carved with a dragon of the Tran Dynasty.

Built in the Ly Dynasty, in 1262 the pagoda was expanded. The pagoda preserves priceless "treasures", but not everyone knows about this. |
In addition to the 14-storey Pho Minh Tower, there are two ancient wells at the entrance.
The pagoda also has ancient trees that are hundreds of years old. These trees have been honored as “heritage trees of Vietnam”.
