VietNamNet Bridge - The exhibition “Lo” by painter Phuong Vu Manh and a martial art instructor from Thai Nguyen Province – Nguyen Hac Long – will be held at the Vietnam Fine Art Museum at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Hanoi from July 12 to 17.

“Lộ” is the first joint exhibition by Manh and Long, who share a common love for painting. Manh’s interest is experimenting with various genres of contemporary art, while Long is a quiet master giving his whole mind to painting and martial art.

Two painting spaces of two close friends with distant personalities will be sure to swirly melt and leave deep impression within the audience.

The main subjects in Long’s work are life and religion. He seems to ignore the rational principles of plastic arts technique as well as dither and desire to convey his sentimental heart.

Manh introduces 12 oil paintings and synthetic material, subject of fire. This exhibition is a testament to his love of painting. The non-logo and inspirational works may give a new way for the viewers to feel and think about the fire.

Phuong Vu Manh (born in 1969) is a familiar name to the fans of contemporary art in the capital. He graduated from the Painting Faculty, Hanoi University of Fine Arts, in 1998. Phuong Vu Manh has always been interested in the experience of contemporary art. He is one of the first body painters in Vietnam.

Nguyen Hac Long (born in 1966) is an artist – martial art instructor from Thai Nguyen province. He worked as a stage designer and character make-up artist for art groups in Thai Nguyen.
