VietNamNet Bridge – The Ben Go Bridge, crossing Ha Thanh River in Nhon Binh Ward, Quy Nhon City, in the central province of Binh Dinh may be one of the most dangerous bridges in the country.
This bridge, about 100m long, 1.5m wide, is made of bamboo pieces which are connected to each other by iron wires and even bicycle tires.
The bridge serves about 1,000 households. Every day, at peak times, people have to line up, waiting to cross the bridge.
At night, without lamps, the risk of accidents is high. In the rainy season, no one dare cross the bridge.
Many accidents have occurred. Both drivers and their vehicles have fallen into the stream. Some died.
Half of the bridge become submerged when the water level rises.
Mr. Le Duy Trinh, Vice Chairman of Phuoc Thuan Commune, says the local government cannot afford to build a new bridge.

A suspension bridge spans the Re River in Ba Xa Commune of Ba To District in the central province of Quang Ngai. It is called a "death trap".
Over the years, hundreds of people in the village of Goi Re have had to use this bridge to go to the market and school.
The suspension bridge is approximately 50 m long and 15 meters high. It is made of bamboo and steel wire.
Local residents said many people have fallen into the river but fortunately there have been no casualties.
The local government has banned people from using the bridge in the rainy season.
