VietNamNet Bridge - The first three LPs, in a long-term project to produce and distribute this kind of product, has debuted in Vietnam.

LP is the first means of recording of the world’s music history. This type of disc flourished in the era of international rock and roll and was once very popular in Vietnam in the 60s of the last century. LPs transmit high-fidelity audio quality through the analog recording process to ensure depth and clarity of sound.

However, the development of science and technology made strong influences on the development of recording technology. The convenience and popularity of cassette tapes then CDs and digital music... has pushed back LPs into the past.

After a long time of preparation and making market research, the Green Symphony company, MFC Film Star and the Youth Film Studio have launched the first three LP albums, including: Vinh Quang Viet Nam (Vietnam Glory) by singers Hong Vy, Tran Manh Hung and the symphony orchestra, Mua Thu Khong Tro Lai (The Fall Does Not Return) by late singer Le Dung and Ha Noi Mua Vang Nhung Con Mua (Hanoi – The Season Without Rain).

The two later albums were debuted about 15 years ago and archived by the Youth Film Studio, and the first by singer Hong Vy was recorded recently. The three albums were transferred from the cassette form into LP and were checked in the US before being released in Vietnam.

The audience who listened to the old albums and the new ones said that the quality of the LPs are is good.

After these albums, the producers plan to release four other albums, including: Le Quyen Acoustic by singer Le Quyen, Love - The Timeless Love Songs, Floating Singing by four divas My Linh, Tran Thu Ha, Thanh Lam and Hong Nhung, and Evergreen Thuyen Vien Xu.

However, the project is said to be “risky" because the audience is already familiar with digital music and the price for LPs is high. For example, the price for the album “Vietnam Glory” is up to VND1.24 million ($60) and it is VND900,000 for the album by singer Le Dung.

In addition, the audience will have to purchase an LP player at the cost of more than VND10 million or more ($500).
