VietNamNet Bridge – They say to succeed it’s necessary to leave no stone unturned, but it’s a good thing one family in the coastal southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau never heard this saying.

For years, the family in Tan Binh Hamlet, Son Binh Commune chopped firewood on a hard surface they thought was a stone.
Everything changed when early this month, rain water eroded the soil surrounding the chopping block and the family realised it was a bomb. Immediately, they reported the discovery to local authorities.
The 250-kg bomb is thought to have been left over from the American war in Vietnam.
The bomb was deactivated and removed by local army units.
Engineers said the family was lucky they had only used the bomb to chop firewood on, instead of cooking on it.
Maybe from now on this family will make sure to measure twice and cut once.
