VietNamNet Bridge – Thanh Hoa continued unbeaten, maintaining their position atop the 2014 V-League Eximbank football championships after beating Dong Tam Long An 2-1 in the seventh round at Thanh Hoa’s stadium on February 27.

Thanh Hoa completely dominated the game and overwhelmed the guests from Long An who ranked in the penultimate position to the bottom.
Dong Tam Long An played on the defense from the first minutes, making it difficult for the hosts to reach their opponent’s goal.
However, the goal by Xuan Tu from the penalty mark in the 20th minute drove Thanh Hoa to a 1-0 lead.
After the score, both teams stepped up the pace of the game and played offensively, but they could not convert their efforts into any more goals in the first half.
There were some changes in Thanh Hoa’s line-up in the early second half, which helped them intensify their attack. In the 65th minute, Thanh Hoa extended the lead to 2-0 with striker Van Tan netting a goal.
Dong Tam Long An then narrowed the gap to 1-2 with the goal by Hoai Nam.
The 2-1 victory consolidated Thanh Hoa’s position on top of the provisional standings with 19 points.
In another match the same day, Quang Ninh Coal crushed hosts Dong Nai 3-1 with goals scored by Nguyen Hai Huy in the 29th and 55th minutes and Vu Minh Tuan in the 42nd minute.
Earlier on February 26, Hoang Anh Gia Lai were held to a 1-1 draw by Becamex Binh Duong at home, while Vicem Hai Phong caused surprise with a home-soil 2-1 victory over SHB Da Nang. Hung Vuong An Giang failed to improve their bottom position after losing 0-1 to Song Lam Nghe An.
