The beauty pageant was held as part of the Ban Flower Festival 2019 in Dien Bien Phu City, which ended on Monday.
“I will try my best to become a tour guide to promote the beauty and customs of Dien Bien. I will find ways to attract more tourists to the locality,” said Vui, who is working at the province’s Department of Education and Training.
The runner-up and second runner-up were Le Thuy Trang from Dien Bien Phu City and Lo Thi Hai Yen from Muong Cha District, respectively.
The contest attracted 200 candidates from all over Vietnam, among whom 18 were selected for the final round which included an evening gown and swimsuit competition.
Dien Bien is home to more than 30 ethnic groups including Thai, Mong, Kinh, Dao, Kho Mu, Ha Nhi, Tay and Nung, among which Thai accounts for the most with about 38 per cent of the province’s population.
