Vietnamese side Thai Son Nam grabbed the last qualifying slot for the finals of the AFC Futsal Clubs Championship after a 6-3 win over Australian Dural Warriors yesterday's (Tuesday) third-place playoff match at the Panasonic Sports Complex, in Malaysia.

The Vietnamese, who had an smooth game against the same opponents in the group stages with a 6-2 win, came from behind in an encounter in which the referees showed three red cards for both sides.

Spanish import Alberto Riquer and Luu Quynh Toan each scored a double while two others goals went to Phung Trong Luan and Nguyen Bao Quan. Jarrod Basger and Tobias Seeto of Dural Warriors netted for their team.

"We started the match timidly and were under pressure in the beginning but what pleased me today was that we stuck to the Vietnamese brand of futsal and if Vietnamese teams play their futsal, they are hard to beat," Thai Son Nam's Italian coach Sergio Gargelli said.

"The key reason our victory today was our reliance on speed and movement which made it difficult for the Australians to get the space they wanted.
