As the Tet holiday approaches, Vietnam's major telecom providers are fully prepared to handle the surge in communication demands, ensuring seamless connectivity for millions of users.

Viettel boosts network capacity

Viettel has ramped up efforts to support more than 650 festival and event locations, including 335 firework displays on Lunar New Year's Eve. To meet this demand, the provider has deployed over 800 new BTS stations and nearly 100 mobile broadcast vehicles.

Additionally, 20,000 small-cell solutions have been implemented in high-traffic areas to enhance coverage and reduce network congestion. Viettel has also employed advanced tools for quality control, automatic load balancing, and antenna optimization to ensure smooth 2G and 4G connections.

This large-scale operation began a month before Tet, involving thousands of staff across planning, design, and technical teams. Viettel has also introduced the NetEvent software, which automatically sends alerts about potential network issues at crowded event venues, enabling timely troubleshooting and optimization.

MobiFone ensures uninterrupted service

MobiFone has rolled out technical solutions to ensure stable, uninterrupted network performance during Tet, especially on Lunar New Year’s Eve.

Key measures include:

Rigorous inspections of network equipment to maintain high redundancy configurations.

Expanding domestic and international transmission capacity to accommodate increased demand.

Detailed plans for emergency response, with experienced technical staff on standby at key hubs and command centers.

To handle peak traffic at event locations, MobiFone has also deployed mobile broadcast units and bolstered its monitoring efforts across core transmission lines.

VNPT enhances network readiness

VNPT began preparations in December 2024, thoroughly reviewing its infrastructure and increasing system capacity.

Key upgrades include:

A 16.6% increase in international Internet bandwidth, with additional terrestrial routes to mitigate risks of undersea cable disruptions.

A 23% boost in core network capacity to support broadband and mobile Internet traffic.

Partnerships with major content providers to enhance service quality and improve customer experience, with connection capacity increased by 10%-40% depending on demand.

VNPT has also upgraded over 3,800 broadcast stations at nearly 300 major event locations nationwide and deployed additional mobile broadcasting units to handle large crowds.

For broadcasting services, VNPT has ensured high-quality signal transmission with advanced satellite vehicles and secure data systems.

Vietnamobile focuses on event hotspots

Vietnamobile anticipates a significant spike in data usage at popular event venues during Tet. To address this, the provider has:

Increased network resources and capacity in high-traffic areas.

Deployed additional staff for on-site support.

Equipped key locations with backup generators to maintain uninterrupted service.
