The Ha Giang Mong Khen Festival and the Three Region Culinary Culture Festival took place on the evening of April 22 at March 26 square (Ha Giang city). Immediately after the opening ceremony this morning, the event attracted hundreds of guests.

The organizing committee arranged 60 booths with sections to introduce tourism products of the 3 regions, including drinks from buckwheat or typical goods of the provinces of Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Dien Bien...

According to the Organizing Committee, this festival is held to honor, preserve and promote the culinary cultural values of Ha Gaing province, build and effectively exploit the tourism culinary brand through collecting, restoration and development to bring many interesting experiences to visitors.

The 2023 Culinary Culture Festival of the North - Central - South Regions and Ha Giang Province took place on April 21-23.

“This is a big festival in the city so we are very excited. From morning until now I have enjoyed many dishes from different regions. I find Hanoi's shrimp cakes, rice rolls and bun cha very delicious," Ms. Hoa (left) said.

Dishes from many mountainous districts such as stone cakes and buffalo skin are very popular.

Traditional costumes and accessories of the Tay, Mong, Dao ethnic groups are also displayed at the festival.

Traditional song and dance performances helped visitors better understand the traditional culture of the ethnic groups.

A strange dish that attracted attention at the festival was corn noodles. Tourists experienced the traditional process of making pho from corn and then enjoy it on the spot. “Men men used to be the main dish but it is boring now. We have innovated corn powder into pho (noodles) to suit the taste of many tourists," Ms. Huyen (representative of the stall) said.

Mr. Waldemaer MosKa said that he has experienced many cuisines of Vietnam, including Hanoi pho. "The noodles here have a quite special flavor because they are made from corn, the broth is light and sweet, very delicious," Mr. Moska said.
