VietNamNet Bridge -After two days, an A350 aircraft of Vietnam Airlines could not fly because of a technical malfunction in Paris. The carrier had to send a Boeing 777 Paris to pick up 201 passengers.
According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines, the Airbus A350 had technical problems in Paris on January 3. Airbus has sent experts and a technical team and specialized equipment from Hamburg and Toulouse to Paris to identify the problem. So far no statement about the problem and the time to restore the operation of the aircraft has been made.
The A350 is the most modern aircraft in Vietnam.
Flight VN18 from Paris to Hanoi on January 3 was delayed. Vietnam Airlines brought 201 passengers to a hotel. Some passengers, mainly transit passengers, the elderly and children, flew to Vietnam on flights of other carriers, from Paris and Frankfurt.
On January 5, Vietnam Airlines sent a Boeing 777 to Paris to carry the remaining passengers to Hanoi. The flight took off at 11.30pm (local time).
The Airbus A350 is a kind of long-range, twin-engine wide-body jet airliner developed by European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The A350 is the first Airbus with both fuselage and wing structures made primarily of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer. It seats 280 to 366 passengers in typical three-class seating layouts. The A350 is positioned to succeed the A330 and A340, and compete with Boeing's 787 and 777.
A350 is used on long routes such as Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City. It was launched by Vietnam Airlines on July 2.
