On March 26, Le Quang Huy, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology, and Environment, along with a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology led by Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Information Technology Industry and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) with EVGroup. EVGroup is one of the world's leading companies specializing in equipment for semiconductor manufacturing.

This event marks a significant step in promoting the development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry while expanding international cooperation in high technology - an increasingly essential field for the global digital economy.

The memorandum of understanding focuses on three main pillars: promoting research and development programs in key technologies such as nano manufacturing, 3D packaging, and MEMS.

Both parties will cooperate in training and capacity building, including designing specialized training programs for students, engineers, and researchers to improve technical expertise in the semiconductor field.

They will also collaborate in manufacturing, testing, and implementing practical projects to move Vietnam closer to establishing a modern semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong expressed his pleasure at the growing cooperation between Vietnam and Austria and highly valued the effective and close relationship between the professional units of both sides.

Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized: “The cooperation between EVGroup, the Department of Information Technology Industry, and PTIT not only contributes to enhancing the capacity of Vietnam's semiconductor industry but also brings practical value in training, research, and development, in line with the long-term vision and sustainable development orientation of the country.”

Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Information Technology Industry, stressed the importance of promoting international cooperation in semiconductor technology, stating: “With EVGroup's expertise and the domestic policy encouraging semiconductor investment, Vietnam is expected to achieve concrete and sustainable results in this field.”

From EVGroup’s perspective, CEO Hermann Waltl shared: “We believe that together, we will create a future where advanced semiconductor technologies play a crucial role in shaping industries worldwide.”

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding marks an important milestone in promoting international cooperation and concretizes Vietnam's Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy.
